NEW CATALOGUE ANNOUNCEMENT 23 DECEMBER, 2021
PERFLUORINATED COMPOUNDS, OCTOBER 2021
Native & Mass-Labelled PFAS Mixtures Compatible with U.S. EPA Draft Method 1633
Wellington Laboratories is pleased to support U.S. EPA draft Method 1633 for the analysis of PFAS in aqueous, solid, biosolid, and tissue samples by releasing compatible prime stock solutions. To offer the greatest degree of flexibility with other applications, a series of native (PFAC-MXF, PFAC-MXG, PFAC-MXH, PFAC-MXI and PFAC-MXJ) and mass-labelled (MPFAC-HIF-ES and MPFAC-HIF-IS) stock solutions have been prepared. These mixtures can be diluted and/or combined to achieve the spiking a calibration solutions recommended by the method.
PERFLUORINATED COMPOUNDS, NOVEMBER 2020
Native PFAS Certified Reference Standards
L-PFUdS L-PFTrDS EU-5813-NSS
In November the European Parliament and the Council of the European Union released new requirements for the analysis of per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) in water intended for human consumption (5813/20). Unfortunately, this amendment to Council Directive 98/83/EC included perfluoroalkanesulfonates that were not commercially available. In response to this Wellington Laboratories synthesized, purified, characterized and prepared accurate certified reference standards of the required substances: sodium perfluoro-1-undecanesulfonate (L-PFUds) and sodium perfluoro-1-tridecanesulfonate (L-PFTrDS). We have also prepared a native solution/mixture (EU-5813-NSS) that contains all of the PFAS listed in the drinking water directive (5813/20) for your convenience, This solution/mixture can be used in conjunction with two of Wellington's existing mass-labelled PFAS mixtures to easily prepare a calibration set for quantification.
PERFLUORINATED COMPOUNDS, NOVEMBER 2020
ISO 21675:2019 Solution/Mixtures
ISO 21675-NSS ISO-21675-LSS
To supoport the international standard for water quality (ISO 21675:2019) which can be utilized to determine perfluoroalkyl and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) in various water samples using solid phase extraction and LC-MS/MS analysis, Wellington Laboratories has prepared native and mass-labelled solution/mixtures (Iso 21675-NSS & ISO 21675-LSS respectively. These solutions will allow analytical laboratories to reduce the time and cost associated with solution prpraration with solution preparation and testing by purchasing ready made certified standrdas. This flexible method allows for the analysis of a variety of waters including fresh water, sea water, and waste water containing less than 2 g/L solid particulate material for a selection of PFAS with varying functionality.
PERFLUORINATED COMPOUNDS, JANUARY 2020
Native PFAS Solution/Mixtures
PFAC-MXF PFAC-MXG
The removal of PFOS and PFOA from industrial processes has resulted in increased use of replacement per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) such as Gen x (HFPO-DA), ADONA (NaDONA), and F-53B (9Cl-PF3ONS and 11Cl-PF3OUdS). Wellington Laboratories previously released individual Certified Reference Standards for these compounds, and has now generated a solution/mixture that can be used to reduce the cost of in-house solution preparation as laboratory methods are modified to incorporate these new analytes in accordance with U.S. EPA Method 537 (revision 1.)
Similarly, the finalisation of U.S. EPA Method 533 has prompted many commercial laboratories to expand their PFAS analyte list to include the replacement PFAS listed above as well as three new perfluoroether- and perfluoropolyether-carboxylic acids (PF4OPeA, PF50HxA and 3,6-OPFHpA) and a perfluoropolyethersulfonate (PFEESA). To accommodate laboratories doing drinking water analyses, Wellington Laboratories has also added a new solution/mixture of native perfluoroethercarboxylic acids and a perfluoroethersulfonate (PFAC-MXG) to their PFAS product line. Although Wellington Laboratories offers both native (EPA-533PAR) and mass-labelled (EPA-533ES & EPA5331S) certified primary dilution standards for EPA Method 533, PFAC-MXG can be conbined with PFAC-MXF and PFAC-24PAR to easily generate a qulaity control standard (QCS) for this method as well.
PERFLUORINATED COMPOUNDS
Aqueous Film-Forming Foam PFAS
5:3FTB 5:1:2FTB
Interest in novel zwitterionic and cationic per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) being found at sites exposed to aqueous film-forming foams (AFFFs) continues to arise. As such, Wellington Laboratories has expanded their PFAS product line to include two additional zwitterionic AFFF compounds (5:3FTB and %:1:2FTB). It has been reported in scientific literature that environmental concentrations of fluorotelomer betaines (FTBs) do not decrease as quickly as fluorotelomer sulfonamide alkylbetaines (FTABs). This makes research associated with the mobility of these compounds as well as their environmental monitoring very important.
HALOGENATED FLAME RETARDANTS & RELATED COMPOUNDS, DECEMBER 2019
Native Organophosphate Reference Standards
3tBPDPP T3tBPP B3tBPPP T24DtBPP 3IPPDPP B3IPPPP
In order to aid researchers in the accurate quantitation of organophosphorous compounds in environemntal samples, Wellington laboratories has produced certified reference standards for 6 new native organophosphate compounds that are believed to be present at significant levels in commercial flame retardant mixtures. These new products complement Wellington's existing inventory of native and mass-labelled organophosphate reference standards.
HALOGENATED FLAME RETARDANTS & RELATED COMPOUNDS
Dechlorinated anti-Dechlorane Plus®
axCl11DP axxCl10DP
Dechlorane Plus (DP), an additive polychlorinated flame retardant with a variety of applications, has been detected as an environmental contaminant on a global scale. Due to rising concerns regarding the presence of DP and its related compounds in environmental samples, Wellington Laboratories has expanded their DP products line to include additional certified reference standards for dechlorinated anti-DP (axCl1 1DP and axxCl10DP.

New PFAS Solution/Mixture
PFAC30PAR
Wellington Laboratories has prepared a native/solution mixture which expands on the analyte list of their popular PFAC-24PAR product. The updated mixture contains 6 additional analytes including HFPO-DA, NaDONA, 9Cl-PF3ONS, 11Cl-PF3OUdS, FBSA, and FHxSA. In addition, the N-MeFOSAA and N-EtFOSSA components of PFAC30PAR are charachterized mixtures in the branched and linear and branched isomers C6 and C8 perfluoroalkanesulfonates (PFHxSK and PFOSK).
The mass-labelled solution/mixture MPFAC-24ES can still be used in combination with M3HFPO-DA to create a mixture containing suitable surrogates for the PFAC30PAR.
CERTIFIED REFERENCE MATERIALS, JANUARY 2019
Reference Fish Tissue & Extract
WMF-02 WMF-03 WMF-EX
In response to customer requests for an expanded selection of certified environmental reference materials (ERMs) Wellington Laboratories conducted an inter laboratory study in 2018 and was able to characterize three seperate fish materials for select persistent organic pollutants. Certified analyte concentrations were derived using data received from at least 10 analytical laboratories accredited to ISO/IEC 17025 and data were statistically analyzed using the Q-method/Hampel estimator (robust method, ISO 13528:2015). As a result Wellington Laboratories added WMF-02, WMF-03 and WMF-EX to their product line of Environmental Reference Materials.
